Island Futurism (TW)
Island Futurism is Taiwan’s first Afrobeat inspired band. Formed in 2018, it is led by DJ @llenblow, former bassist of Dub/Reggae bands Hang In The Air and Taimaica Soundsystem. One of the band’s most important purposes is to pay tribute to Fela Kuti, the Father of Afrobeat. Island Futurism’s music infuses funk, psychedelic, and jazz into traditional and islandish music to create its very own unique soundscape, “Formobeat.”
