ShuChan Chiu (TW)

Born in 1997, 100% Hakka, Shuchan started composing back in her school days and wrote her first Hakka song “Mong” to pay tribute to her beloved grandfather. Having honorably received first place in Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest in 2020 with the very same song, this further motivated Shuchan to create more original Hakka music.
She hopes that through her music, the door will be opened for people to learn and appreciate the beauty of different languages and let her mother tongue, Hakka, flow into people’s everyday life.
